February MyGlam bag

I finally got a MyGlam Bag! MyGlam is a new company put together by five of YouTube's beauty gurus, based on the increasingly popular sample box idea used by companies such as Birchbox. I've been subscribed since late December and should have gotten a bag for January, but due to a mishap with shipping, the company failed to give several subscribers their packages, myself included (a full refund was issued).

The bag costs $10/month and shipping price is included. Every month you receive 4-5 sample to full-sized products in a reusable makeup bag.

This month's bag included:

  • X Out Shine Control (sample)
  • NYX Roll On Shimmer (full-size) (I got mine in the color Walnut)
  • Premier Dead Sea Cinderella Mask (sample)
  • NuMe Professional Styling Tolls and Hair Extensions- $100 Gift Card
  • Freeman Facial Mask Sachet- Goji Berry (trial size)

(swatch of NYX roll-on shimmer in Walnut)

Overall I think this month's bag was OK. It's not nearly as exciting as January's bag, which I unfortunately missed out on, but for $10, I suppose it's nothing to scoff at (assuming ~$3 shipping). I'm looking forward to finally trying out the Freeman masks, and maybe put in an order. I was looking forward to see if NYX would offer a good discount, but the discount is only available towards more roll-on shimmer, which I won't be buying more of. I've never heard of X Out or Premier before, but I look forward to trying on the samples.

Overall: I think it was interesting, but I definitely would have preferred January's bag. I'm not sure yet if I'm sold on this type of try-it, buy-it sales pitch with the random products. $10/month seems an awful lot to put towards things you might not end up using. The only thing I really know I'll be trying is the Freeman mask... retail about $2 probably? (I just put it on... it smells yummy) The only other monthly subscription I follow using this sales pitch is the GouletPenCompany's InkDrop, and with that I can wait until the second week of the month to see what is in that month's bag... and still order that bag and get the discounts on those products if I want what I see. I'm still subscribed to MyGlam, but if I don't like what's in March's bag I might drop from the program.
